A quiet, beautiful Cotswolds location. Lower Slaughter is a smaller village. With a Mill (soon to be open again) and another hotel. The Slaughters Country Inn was a surprise birthday present for my wife. We stay in an annex room. Very nice, large bath and separate shower. Huge, comfortable bed. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Our rate was bed and breakfast. But we ate evening meal twice in the restaurant too. Excellent. Front desk staff provided walking maps. We did a 10km circuit through Upper Slaughter, Ashton, Bourton-on-the-Water (where we had tea and a cake) and back to The Inn. Lovely couple of days. The Inn is only missing EV charging points. Ok as we weren’t travelling far. But hopeless if you travelled far.

I booked a D, B & B summer deal and was upgraded on check in to superior double room. The Room was a good size with a really comfortable bed and nice size bathroom. My only gripe is the amateurish tea and coffee making facilities; when i’m paying £280ish a night I expect decent coffee and milk not sachet stuff. Service at check in and in the restaurant for the evening meal and breakfast was fabulous. Menu choice for veggies is so-so and needs more than a couple of options.

We had an amazing lunch here. Despite being late from our reservation the waiter could give us a table and the food and service were both wonderful. It’s a really dog friendly place I loved that there were at least 10 dogs there during our lunch.

My favourite hotel! Fourth stay at The Slaughters Country inn and it doesn't disappoint. The staff are excellent - from the Receptionists to the Maître d to the Waiting/Bar and Cleaning staff, they all excel in my opinion and are all lovely and polite. My room was lovely and spotless (Common Lane, which has a lovely little lounge area) The breakfasts were outstanding and I had a great evening meal while there too. Location wise, Lower Slaughter is one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds.

My friend took me here as I'd never been before. Lower Slaughter is a very busy place for a tiny village so keep this in mind. Your lucky if you get parking even in winter. We chanced it and didn't book (which I will do in the future). The pub was very busy when we walked in but the gentlemen said give me a moment and I'll see if I can sort something out. He moved a small coffee table and two chairs for us so we could have lunch and didn't have to wait. Greatly appreciated! We both had veggie options which was a baguette and my friend had the cous cous salad. Both lovely. The salad looked delicious so I think I'll get that next time! Thanks for fitting us in.

I stayed here as a solo traveller and I would thoroughly recommend it. It’s very easy to find with plenty of parking. The staff were wonderfully welcoming. from reception to the bar and restaurant I felt at home. The room was fantastic. Nice and warm after a cold day in the countryside. The bed was comfy and the amenities were 5* Some lovely wood fires in the bar for the winter nights. The food was delicious (though a little expensive if you’re on a budget). Worth every penny though. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic and the staff again were very polite and welcoming. Very professional. I would 100% recommend people to stay here and I’ll be coming back again soon I hope!

It's a lovely location for a hotel, in one of the prettiest villages in The Cotswolds. We've stayed here quite a lot over the years & the accommodation is good ( although the last time we visited it wasn't the cleanest ), the breakfasts are nice & the staff are friendly. All I would say is that when the hotel was bought by the current owners they did destroy the coziness of the bar. Floor boards replaced with soulless tiles & the tables & chairs look cheap & don't really match or are uncomfortable to sit in. Still the two fires are good, although again you used to be able to sit comfortably near them, but not so much now. Would recommend a stay though & it is our go to hotel when we are in the area & we will continue to do so.
